Win Missouri Privacy Policy

Win Missouri is an iPhone app that helps political campaigns organize door-to-door canvassing. It is made by James Rinkenbaugh (“we”). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and a password. Passwords are stored only as a salted, one-way hash.
- What you record at the door: visit results (for example “talked” or “not home”), survey answers, notes, yard sign requests and “do not knock” flags.
- Guests who join a walkbook with a code give only a name.
Location
The app uses your location only while you have a shift on. During a shift it records where you are so the campaign can see which doors were visited, and, if you choose to show your team, shares your current position with teammates on the same campaign so people can find each other. iOS shows the location indicator the whole time. Location stops when your shift ends; your live position is removed then.
Voter information
Campaigns load voter lists into the app, such as names, addresses, ages, party modeling and past turnout from public voter records and party data services. The campaign that loads a list controls it and is responsible for having the right to use it. We store and process it only to run the app for that campaign. Each campaign's data is kept separate. The one thing shared between campaigns using Win Missouri is a voter's self-reported party preference, so volunteers don't ask the same household twice.
How information is used
- To run the app: sign-in, syncing walkbooks and results between a campaign's phones, maps and reports.
- To keep the app secure and working.
We do not sell personal information, show ads, or use third-party analytics or tracking.
Who can see it
- People on the same campaign, according to their role (volunteers see their walkbooks; managers see their campaign's results and team).
- Our service providers: Cloudflare hosts the servers and database (in the United States); Apple processes subscriptions. We never receive your payment details.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting data
- Delete your account anytime in the app: Me › Delete account. Your sign-in, name and email are deleted. Door results you recorded stay with the campaign, shown as “Former volunteer.” If you created a campaign and no one else has joined it, the campaign and all of its data are deleted too.
- Campaigns can remove their data at any time; ask us and we'll delete a campaign's data completely.
- If you are a resident and want a campaign to stop visiting you, tell the volunteer or email us and we'll pass it on and mark the address “do not knock.”
Security
All data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens are stored only as hashes on the server and in the iPhone Keychain on your device.
Children
Win Missouri is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing jamesrinkenbaugh@gmail.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app for significant changes.
